The worst of outcomes

So my Dad, Mom, and Aunt Norma road in the Century ride on Saturday May 15th from the Fairgrounds to Antelope Island. Mom and Norma finished strong, Dad finished on the pavement. The road was a little squirly and somehow he lost control and crashed. When the dust settled he sent Mom on to finish the race and I went to meet him at Instacare.

After meeting with the annoying Nurse Practitioner, it was determined he broke his clavical in two places. They put him in a brace and sent him on his way. Fast forward to yesterday and he met with an Orthopedic surgeon who said that a brace wouldn't do, he needed surgery. The planets aligned and they fast tracked him for surgery today.

After a 7 inch place was put in and 3 more fractures found, he is on the road to recovery. Hopefully the recovery goes smooth and he will be back working, biking and golfing soon. So here's to you Dad, we are thinking of you and hope you know that we love you.

Isabelle Dance Recital

On Tuesday, Isabelle and her cousin Hanna had their dance recital. It was at the Rose Wagner Theater downtown and they both did a good job. Isabelle lost her shoe just after she started and like a true professional she held it in her hand until she could sneak it back on. Even though we had to sit through a ton of other dances it was still a good night because Isabelle had fun. We may not be able to get her to go up and sing in Church for Mother's Day, but she has no problem with recitals!

Rain is a good thing

A few weeks back during all the rain the girls just had to play in the rain. One thing I learned? Rain boots and umbrellas make my girls very happy.

Why can't it always be like this?

Sometimes the planets align and the there is peace in the Barker household. Just like all siblings the fight for supremacy is a never ending battle but then they surprise us and do this:

I guess they really do love each other

Sugarland

May 7, 2010

The wait to see Sugarland ended last night at the E Center. We howwere supposed to see them last year with Kenny Chesney but they had to cancel because of Jennifer's voice.

Isabelle, Aly, LeAnn, and me went and it was a great concert. If you have the chance to go see them, do, you will not be disappointed. Danny Gokey was very good opening but we could have done without Jullianne Hough. Her performance seemed really forced and she didn't have enough songs that everyone knew to fill the second slot.

Sugarland made up for Jullianne's performance and did a great job beginning to end. Isabelle had so much fun and made it through the whole show despite it ending at 10:45. Just a great night filled with great music.
