Taylor Swift 2011

The girls got to go to Taylor Swift, and Gracie got to go to her first concert.  After dinner at Rumbi they headed over to the arena to enjoy a really good show.  There is a reason she was voted the Entertainer of the Year and they had a great time even though Gracie got a little tired at the end.

Sept. 11

It has been Ten years since September 11 so we decided to take the kids down to the Healing Field in Sandy to honor the lives lost on that day.  Each flag bears the name of a person who's life was lost and then gives a brief description of who they were.  While the kids didn't fully understand, I think it was good that we were able to show them what each flag represented.

My Buddy

Today I made a site visit to see the progress of a project we (Ferran Construction) are building.  The development is Cresthaven Townhomes on Traverse Mountain in Lehi.  This is a brand new development and we are really excited about it.

After I dropped Gracie off to school it was just me and my little guy.  He is all boy...vroom, vrooming with his cars and there was no exception on the jobsite with dirt and things only a little boy would find: not one but two makeshift swords....

Oh, and here are a few project pictures...

The View

So if anyone knows of someone looking for a new place - have them give me a call!!

Awkward Nap and Couch Jumping

While Gracie decided she would take a nap in the blue chair, Brooks decided to do what he does best, get in trouble.   He has entered the climbing phase and especially loves to get on the couch and bounce.  After jumping a few times he likes to try and climb over the back of the couch, luckily we have been close to catch him before he leaps!

Toothbrush

Brooks is obsessed with Toothbrushes.  Whenever he can he goes to the toothbrush drawer and grabs whatever one he can find and sticks it in his mouth.  As you can see in the picture below he is not using his own, he found Gracie's and figured that was good enough.  Once he has it he wants to run it under the water over, and over and over again.  He's started early on his path to proper oral hygiene!

The next picture is my favorite of the night, the kids are calmed down, and peace is starting to settle in on the Barker Household.

Gracie's first day of school

Your first day of preschool, and your first steps towards independence!  You started school today and so begins a journey of discovery and learning.  You weren't even sad today, just excited to start a new chapter in your life.  Oh the places you'll go!

Clay Walker (This took to long to post!)

We headed out to Wendover a month and a half ago to see Clay Walker in Concert, and to fulfill one of Aly's all time dreams, meeting him.  A few months before I bid on a charity auction and won two tickets to see Clay in concert and to have the opportunity to meet him.

While brief and way to short, we did get to meet him, but we were not allowed to have him sign anything.  So we had to wait in line after the show to get him to sign a few things, so we met him twice, but only those backstage got pictures with him.  It was a great Concert and not thinking it could get any better, when we met him after, he told Aly that she had a nice smile.  She was on cloud 9 the rest of the weekend!!
