Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve 2011 at the Ferrans:  Great Prime Rib, songs sung, gifts exchanged, a 450 pound safe carried, and Brook's having enough and falling asleep on the couch.

Isabelle decided that she wanted to play her guitar for Christmas Eve so she worked on the song: "Silent Night."  Last minute we talked her into singing too and she did a great job.  Since I brought a mic and speaker it then turned into everyone wanting to sing, so this was one of the first Christmas Eve's where music was a big part of the Ferran Family party.

We had a great time even if we had to carry John's new safe in from the Garage.

Christmas Recital

Gracie's Annual Christmas Dance Recital was tonight and with her Cousin Hadley they stole the show.  They were able to dance right by each other and both did a great job.  Gracie loves to dance and especially loves it when she can get all dressed up.

We went to Bucca Di Beppo for dinner with everyone and a ended the evening with way to much food.

It looks like both of Gracie's feet are off the ground

It's over!

Grandma Barker couldn't make it tonight but Grandpa still came out

Grandma and Grandpa Ferran gave the girls flowers

Good friends

The only picture I could get of the two of them was this one, all Gracie wanted was a kissing picture

Decorating the Tree

The girls have wanted to put the Christmas Tree up for weeks and tonight they finally got to do it.  Brook's was more into destroying the tree instead of helping put it together but he still got some ornaments on there.  So begins the Christmas season, it's going to be a very quick one this year because we are going on a cruise the first part of December and after that I am sure it will be busy trying to get everything done.

He liked taking apart the drums not putting them on the Tree

Thanksgiving 2011

It was the Ferran's year for Thanksgiving and to mix it up, I decided to smoke a Turkey.  This wasn't my first one, I tried it a week before, but this one turned out amazing.  It only took a few hours and the end product was very good.  So we spent the morning at home doing that and some crafts with the girls.  Around 1:30 went to the Ferran's and had a great dinner, the nice thing is that we had the traditional Turkey and the smoked.  It was a nice afternoon, we didn't see my parents because they were down in St. George celebrating with Ben and Jason's families.

Halloween 2011

Aly and Gracie were sick today so I took Isabelle and Brook's up to the Grandparents to Trick-Or-Treat while they stayed home.  With them staying home it was the first time that anyone has been home at our house in the 11 years we have lived there.  Aly had to try and scratch up some candy to give it but they were able to find some things.

It was a great night of Trick-or-Treating, Isabelle made sure that Gracie wouldn't be left out and took her bucket to get filled up.  Brook's had a great time going door to door, and he did really good except for the times they would just stick out the bowl of candy and he would try and grab a huge handful.  It was a fun evening even though Gracie and Aly couldn't be with us.

Decorating Pumpkins

Tonight both sets of Grandparents came out to help us carve pumpkins, and after we were done we had Eight pumpkins carved.  It's the night before Halloween, so we are a little late in getting these carved, but we at least got them done before Halloween this year!  Gracie and Isabelle both loved to help and they even got the guts out of the insides.  For the first time Isabelle carved her own, it probably wasn't the safest decision but she did a great job.
