St. George

My brother Ryan is in town with his family so we decided to take a long weekend and spend some time in St. George with all of my family. With how hot it has been down there and the drive, Aly stayed home with Brooks and I took the girls. We left on Thursday and got home yesterday, and despite not having Aly and Brooks there, we had a great time.

It was mostly a weekend of swimming, swimming and a little more swimming. We swam a few times at Las Palmas and also went to Washington City Community Center pool. It was a great little getaway with the almost all of the Barker Family.

Concrete Wins

Isabelle has officially had her worst crash on her scooter. Going over to the neighbors she lost control on their driveway where it was bumpy and went head first over the handle bars. With how fast she rides her bike, it's surprising she hasn't had any real bad crashes before. Today it turned out to be the scooter that removed skin.

Now those are some good battle scars

What our kids do the moment they wake up

Since Brooks has come along, this is the first thing the girls want to do when they wake up: (Besides playing the iPad!)

Holding him and giving him as many kisses as possible is their new favorite thing to do

The Soccer Ball

I bought Isabelle a soccer ball last week and ever since she want's to play soccer every night. She got home late tonight and even though it was past her bed time, we still had to go and play for 20 minutes. I wish that I would have bought a ball sooner because she is really enjoying it.

Celebrating July 4th on July 5th

Since July 4th was on Sunday this year we celebrated today, the 5th. Most of the day was spent at home doing various projects around the house. The girls played with their friends for a few hours and then we got ready to go to Grandma and Grandpa Barker's. We had a nice meal up there with the cousins and some of My Aunts and Uncles (Danny/Kaye/Norma) and just relaxed for a few hours. A little after 8:00 we went over to Grandpa and Grandma Ferran's to light fireworks with all the Cousins.

Brooks was oblivious to the goings on and Gracie didn't want much to do with the Fireworks. She stayed as far away as she could so that she could see them but not be close. We have a picture of her hanging out with Uncle Troy on the steps watching from a distance. Isabelle loved the sparklers and had a good time playing with those with all her Cousins. It was a late night but we had a nice day celebrating the 4th of July, maybe next year Gracie will want to do sparklers and be a little closer to the action.

Visiting Grandparent's

After Church we went to Ogden and visited Grandma Barker and Grandma and Grandpa Reeder. Grandma Barker is going to be 83 next week was in good spirits when we got there. It is sad that she has to be in a care facility but it is the best thing for her. Grandpa Reeder on the other hand is 94 and still going strong at home with Ella. They go camping every week and serve at least a couple of days a week in the temple. We don't get up to Ogden enough so it is good we made time to see them today.

Gardner Village

Today we went to Gardner Village with Morgan, Hadley, Preston, Grandma LeeLee, Deanne, Colby, and Hanna. We had lunch at the Bakery, went on a pony ride - all the kids loved it with the exception of Gracie...she was excited when we got there but getting on a pony was another story. I had to walk with her - she would not let go of me!!

Gracie and Hadley choosing which pony they were going to ride, Hadley wanted one with a pink harness (i think) and Gracie wanted the one with the purple harness...

We tried feeding the two ducks that were there - but the ducks weren't interested in eating what we were offering.

Here is little Brooks, his first outing in the stroller. Gracie also was not happy about this. When I got the stroller out of the car and put him in it, she cried and said that it was her stroller and she wanted to ride in it. I guess it is time to buy a double stroller.

Thanks Morgan for planning a fun little outing, we'll have to do it again!
