Week of First's

This has been a big week for Isabelle. Her first day of first grade, her first soccer practice, and her first soccer game. She was a little nervous starting soccer but had a really fun time.

Getting some instruction (She didn't have her uniform on because this was her trial run to see if she liked it. She did like it and received her uniform after)

First Day of 1st Grade

Isabelle had such a good time at her first day of school. Even though she was nervous the day turned out be really fun for her. I can't believe she is in school all day now, she is growing up too fast.

Back to School Feast

Isabelle starts First Grade tomorrow and so tonight Isabelle got to choose what she wanted for dinner. The choice was homemade pizzas and the girls had a great time making their creations. It is a new adventure that is starting and I don't know if Aly and I are ready for it, even Gracie will have to adjust.

Salt Lake County Fair

I took Isabelle, Gracie, and Hanna to the Salt Lake County Fair tonight. It was a pretty small fair but they had just enough to do. The girls saw the farm animals, ate expensive food, rode some rides (even a mechanical bull) and watched the pigs race.

Brooks Two Month Checkup

Today Brooks had his 2 month checkup. He is growing so fast!

He weighed in at 12 pounds and 14 ounces and is 23.5 inches long! He is in the 75th percentile overall.

The worst part about checkups are the immunizations - 3 shots in his legs and 1 oral. He flinched on the first and started the cry on the second and by the third shot he was screaming and his face was bright red - I felt so bad. I wanted the girls to go out but they chose to stay in the room - Isabelle was very concerned for him. Afterwards, I had to give him lots of loves and hold him tight. He got cute little blue Snoopy bandaids. Overall he did very well with his shots but was very tired. Two months till we have to do it all over again!!!

Playin' in the Water

The other night we were playing soccer in the backyard when Gracie thought it would be funny to turn on the mister. Pretty soon her dress was off and the girls finished the day by playing in the water.

Mountain's for Dinner

With Ryan and his Family in town from Texas, Aly had a great idea to head up to the Mountain's, make tin foil dinners, and have some one on one time with nature. After thinking that tin foil dinners would take to long Ben offered to make dutch oven potatoes and chicken, and then we would do some smores for dinner. It was a great idea until the weather decided to not cooperate. Luckily we only got poured on once, and the rest of the time it was just a little chilly.

It took some time to start the fire but once that was done we had a great time. We had us, Ryan's family, Ben's Family, Mariah (Nick was at school) and family friend Brandon Maughan's family. Ben and Shannon made a great dinner and everyone had fun.

Gracie's First Dance Class

It was Gracie's first day of dance today, and she couldn't have been more excited. She gets to take the class with her Cousin Hadley and they do ballet, jazz and tumbling. Ever since Isabelle started back into dance Gracie has wanted to take her own class. She would go to Isabelle's dance classes and get all dressed up even though she couldn't participate. Today was her day to be like her big sister.

Brooks Matthew Barker's Blessing

Yesterday we blessed Brooks and had a good group of family and friends join us for the occasion. He was very good for his name and blessing and didn't cry at all. It was right around the time of his next feeding, and if you know anything about Brooks, when he is hungry, he lets you know.

After sacrament meeting we had a nice feast at our house. We made Chicken Salad Croissants, LeeAnn brought fruit and my mom did Salad. Dessert was home made ice cream. It was nice to have a blessing that we could have outdoors, with the girls it was too cold or in the winter so we had a lot more room for all the kids this time.

Here are pictures of the big day:
