Dance Recital May 2011

Tonight the girls had their Dance Recital and both of them did a really good job, as well as their cousins Hanna and Hadley.  Gracie used her same Snow White costume from her December recital and her and Hadley were right next to each other.  Isabelle and Hanna started their dance class late and so we were hoping that both of them would be able to get the dance down and they did.  Despite the long wait in between Gracie and Isabelle it was a fun night of dancing.

All Over

Brooks is already very different than his Sisters were at his age.  They were content staying in one place and not causing havoc, Brooks is the complete opposite.  You try to change him and all he wants to do is roll over.  You open the dishwasher and all he wants to do is get up on it.

You put him on the bed and after making you think he is going to sit still he tries to escape to the end of the bed

You give him comb and he tries to come his hair

You put him in the bathroom and he tries to open all the doors

You set him on the floor and he goes and finds the first thing he can to get up on

But best of all you tickle him and he laughs uncontrollable and shows you all his teeth coming in

St. George Iron Man

Travis decided that he was going to do the Iron Man this year in St. George, and since it is a big deal we went down to support him in his cause to finish one of the toughest races in the country.  Unfortunately Aly last minute couldn't come because of some issues at work but the kids and I decided to still go and give her the weekend to get stuff done.

We were able to stay at my parents house with John and LeeAnn and it couldn't have been a better spot because right down their street is where the bikers went by.  They did a loop and so we were able to see Travis three times on his bike and then after dinner on Saturday we saw him again running.  Well, I don't know if you call it running, it was more of an excruciating walk, but he was still going.  After 15 hours and 50 minutes he crossed the finish line, right before 11:00 at night.  Luckily Colby came with us and was able to watch the kids while we went down to see him finish.  It was a great accomplishment and I am glad that I took the girls down to watch Travis become an Iron Man.

This is how we found the girls sleeping when we came home, if Gracie would have been awake she would have probably been hitting Isabelle by now to get her off of her

Isabelle's Zoo Field Trip

Today Isabelle went to the Zoo with her first grade class with Aly being a Chaperone.  Since Aly was going she asked if she could bring Gracie and they said yes.  Aly was in charge of two other girls and since I don't know their names Isabelle will have to tell me who they are later.  They had fun seeing all the animals and being able to spend a few hours outside of school.  Luckily the weather was nice, you just never know with how wet this spring has been if it is going to be a good day.  It was a little chilly but at least the sun was out.
