3 days in St. George

With Ryan's family in town from Texas we decided to head to St. George for a long weekend, and for some reason, we only took a few measly pictures and they all were of Gracie and Brook's (Sorry Isabelle)!  We left Thursday and came home Sunday, and if we did have more pictures it would be pictures of swimming.  That is pretty much all we did the whole time we were down there, swim and eat.

The best part was Grayden and Gracie.  The first thing Grayden said when he knew Gracie was there was:  "Where's my girl at?"  And the whole time he was always wondering where she was.   It was great to have the girls spend time with their cousins they only see once a year, hopefully we can get together sooner next time.

July 24th Barker Party

Nick and Mariah invited all of us over to her Dad's house to have a swim party, eat pizza and do fireworks tonight for the 24th.  We didn't have to do a thing except bring our family and the kids had a great time swimming, eating, making smores and ending the night with Fireworks.

Thanks Nick and Mariah for a fun 24th!

He may look scared in this picture, be he really likes his Cousin Gracie, he calls her "My girl"

Days of 47 Rodeo

Tonight we went to the Days of 47 Rodeo at the Maverick Center.  Last week I was able to get a really good deal on some good seats so we decided to take the Kids to their first rodeo.  We were on the sixth row so we were right in the action.  We got to see Steer Wrestling, Bareback, Calf Ropin', Team Ropin', Barrel Racing (Which the girls really liked) and then Bull Riding.

I don't know why we haven't taken the kids to a rodeo before because I have always liked to go.  We will have to take them to an outdoor rodeo next.  Brooks enjoyed himself as well, but towards the end he got a little restless.  To end the rodeo they have two motocross guys do some cool tricks so that came at the right time to settle him down a little bit and watch the motorcycles.

The thing you may not notice in this picture is that Brooks' is holding 10 bucks in his hand, we couldn't it away from him

I know Aly wont like this picture, but I put it up anyways

Days of 47 Floats

Aly took the girls and Brooks' and went to see the Days of 47 Floats today with the neighbors at the South Towne Expo Center. Every year they let you come in and see them before the parade, and everyone had fun seeing them up close.  All Brooks' cared about was eating his sucker!  Not only did they see the floats but they got balloon animals and had their faces painted, and it was even better because it was pretty much free!

July 4 2011

Since my Dad retired from the Fire Station we haven't been to Sandy City's festival they have every year on the 4th.  We would always go because he was usually asked to help out since a big part of the festival gives the public a chance to see fire trucks, life flight, and the fighting of fires in action.  There also is lot of food, entertainment and games for the kids to play.

We got there around 12:00 and stayed for a few hours.  Most of the things the kids did were free or very little money.  They did a few crafts, got their faces painted, got balloon animals and then we went to see Life Flight land with Grandpa Barker.  We then got to see the new firetruck and then the girls went to play on the bounce houses for a little while.

After we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Ferran's for dinner and then fireworks.  It was the first year that Utah allowed fireworks that fly over 15 feet and the whole night the whole valley was filled.  We had a few of our own and it made the fireworks show a lot better than previous years.  The Neighbors spent some good money and so we were able to watch all of their aerials to finish our July 4th Holiday.

Reeder Family Reunion

We had the Reeder Reunion today at my Aunt and Uncles Danny and Kaye's park by their house in Herriman.  It was nice to have it close because usually we are traveling up to Ogden.  They decided to have BBQ chicken and pork sandwiches and since I couldn't stand to see a nice pork shoulder just cooked in the oven so I offered my services to smoke them on my smoker.  It turned out really good and everyone seemed to like it.

We spent some time at the splash park, played on the slides and had a fairly tame game of Softball.  It was great seeing our extended family we only see about once a year and luckily the weather cooperated and we had a nice day to play.
