Saturday we returned from a week long cruise on the Liberty of the Seas to the Western Caribbean. We had this trip planned with Aly's family for over a year and everyone was able to go, all 25 of us. While this was supposed to be a blog to share some pictures and tell a little about what we did, it is not meant to be.
Yesterday we realized that we did not have our camera bag anywhere in the house. We soon realized that it must be sitting lonely in an airport somewhere or in a new home of someone who would be feeling guilty sooner or later. Here is the rundown:
Salt Lake International: Nothing
Southwest Lost and Found: Nothing
St. Louis: Nothing
We knew that it was not left in Ft. Lauderdale, but weren't sure where we had it from there. The last place we thought we saw it was in St. Louis before we got off the plane. So either they didn't find it on the plane when they cleaned it in St. Louis, or some lucky soul just scored a nice pair of cameras! Aly remembered that the plane we traveled on from Ft. Lauderdale to St. Louis was going to Kansas City, so KC was our last option. With hope gone and the thought of a weeks worth of memories in someone elses hands, she called.
Kansas City: Jackpot
Aly had no problem describing the bag before someone thought they might have it but once the lady thought she might have it, she fell apart. The 12" wide bag turned into a 12" tall bag, the cameras took on new identities and soon we had a bag I had never heard of before! After regaining her composure and the bag positively identified I knew that my trip to the doghouse was not meant to be. So tomorrow the bag returns after an overnight FedEx trip and pictures will be (hopefully) posted tomorrow night.
Lesson learned in all of this: Put your name, address and phone number on your camera bag, you don't think to do it because it is always with you, but trust me, I wish that we would have.
