Lagoon

We are not frequenters of Lagoon but the chance came up to go with my Family for my Mom's Stake Day at Lagoon and we decided to go because of the discount.  Ben and Jason's Families went as well as Grandma Barker.  We got there around Noon and stayed until Eight.  The girls had a really fun time and especially liked the new ride, Bombora.  It is a fairly tame roller coaster but still gives the little ones a nice thrill.  Isabelle liked all the really big roller Coasters and went on a couple with Grandma Barker while I stayed with Gracie.  At the end of the day we went on Bombora five times in a row and then ended the day splashing in the splash park at the entrance to the park.  The girls can't wait to go back, I guess I better start saving my money.

Gracie and Colton spent most of the day hanging out

Waiting for the boats (The kids really wanted to do it but the line takes forever, will try to avoid it next time)

The Girls were happy to end the day in water

We had extra clothes for Gracie but had to buy Isabelle a shirt that she could wear home

Fishin'

Today Grandpa Barker wanted to take the kids fishing in North Ogden to a Trout Farm that his extended family used to own.  Growing up we never went here to fish even though we did spend a significant amount of time in the area visiting my Grandpa and Grandma.  Gracie went with me, but Isabelle stayed home because she wanted to go to a Birthday party.

This was a very nice Trout farm with 5 pools with thousands of fish.  It was great for the kids because they could actually catch something and catch it quickly so it kept their interest up.   They provided the poles and the buckets, and all we had to do was throw the line in and then some fish food and they would go crazy.  Sometimes we snagged them on their fins because there were so many just jumping around.  After catching as many as we wanted we took them over to the shack and they cleaned them and filleted them for us.

Some may say that what we did wasn't fishing, but I would much rather go somewhere where the kids can catch something and not sit for hours bored hoping that something comes on their line.  It was a fun way to spend the afternoon, now I just wish it wasn't so far away so we could go more often.

Brooks FIrst Birthday Party

So today we had Brooks' first birthday party with the family, and the theme that Aly chose was a Circus Theme.  We were able to get a really good deal on a bounce house, and an even better better deal on a Cotton Candy Machine (Free because of the rental companies mistake in not reserving us one.)  When we reserved the bounce house we told them it was for a boy and he told us about one that he had that wasn't really boyish but it was his newest one.  Since it was newer we went with it and it turned out to be pink and purple!  Who really cares right, it was more for all the kids so as long as they had fun it doesn't matter what color it was.

The kids bounced, we ate hamburgers and hotdogs, ate lots of cotton candy, opened presents and then Brooks' tore into his cake.  The weather was perfect and Aly did a great job with all the decorating and planning of the event.  Lesson learned from this birthday?  Don't trust a guy from a bounce house rental place to recommend a color, you choose it next time!

Now would you say that these are boy colors?

Brooks' finished the day taking a quick swim in his new pool

Brooks' Birthday Dinner

Since Brooks couldn't choose where he wanted to go for his Birthday dinner, the girls decided for him, Chili's.  We met our Grandmas and Grandpas there, had a good dinner, and opened a few presents.  After dinner they sang to Brooks and gave him a chocolate shake with whipping cream on top.  It was a matter of seconds before he put his whole face in the whipping cream and started making a big mess.  We even let him take a couple spoonfuls of the actual shake and then he made a really big mess.  He wasn't to happy when we took it away.  After dinner we came home to end Brooks' birthday with one more present.  Happy Birthday Brooks!
